Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Uniformed members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have made an arrest and seized illicit drugs following a traffic stop in the Town of Caledon.

On September 3, 2021 at approximately 4:18 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Healey Road and Centreville Creek Road. The police investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of cocaine and was subsequently arrested.

The driver had called a friend to retrieve the vehicle. Further police investigation showed that the occupants of the newly arrived vehicle were in possession of methamphetamine.

As a result, Marcus WEISE, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with the following:

– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

– Fail to comply with sentence

– Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by a qualified driver

Marcus OPOKU-WARE, 27, of Brampton, stands charged with:

– Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

– Fail to comply with probation order

Racquel NELSON, 28, of Brampton, has been charged with:

– Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

The accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on November 15, 2021, to answer to the charges.
