Peel Region under a travel advisory

Peel region is under a weather warning from Environment Canada.

The national weather agency issued a Winter Weather Travel Advisory for today that affects Caledon, Mississauga, and Brampton. The snow will continue into the evening.

Hazards include locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of four to eight centimetres and peak snowfall rates of up to two centimetres per hour.

“Snow will push into the region and impact travel through the day. Snow will weaken in intensity late in the afternoon or through the evening,” the advisory says. “Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
