Traffic stop leads to drug charges

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Brampton resident after a traffic stop last Wednesday.

Just before 1:00 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop while patrolling the community of Southfields Village. The investigation led officers to seize just over 266 grams of cannabis, as well as various cannabis-related paraphernalia. The 25-year-old driver was arrested and charged with possession of a for the purpose of trafficking and possession of over 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date to answer to the charges.
