Caledon man and three others charged in drug bust

Members of the Community Street Crime Unit from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against four people in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

A quantity of drugs and a vehicle were seized as part of what police call a widespread investigation. Four people have been arrested and face several charges. Officers from Kawartha Lakes, Dufferin, Muskoka, Nottawasaga, Orillia and Wellington County were also involved.

Police started the investigation in February and served search warrants at five locations and on a vehicle.

Police say nearly 45 grams of fentanyl was seized, 10 grams of cocaine, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 2,304 codeine pills, 177 hydromorphone pills, 60 morphine pills and 13 diazepam pills. Digital scales and cell phones were also seized along with over $2000 of cash. A 2018 BMW M2 was also taken as proceeds of crime.

A 31-year-old from Caledon is facing a single count of possession of a Schedule I substance. A 22-year-old from Brampton has been charged with three counts of the same crime.

A 25-year-old from Mississauga is looking at four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking as well as single charges of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of a Schedule I substance.

A 23-year-old from Mono was also arrested and faces five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, and one count of trafficking in a Schedule I substance.
