Planes and Pancakes? A Unique Dining Experience in Caledon

Caledon offers some very cool experiences. Whether you love hiking or cycling the trails, visiting unique shops, touring farms and markets,  or cruising the local roads taking sensational scenery, you’ll find it all here.

Regardless of the adventure, your body, just like your vehicle, will eventually be giving you signs of needing to fuel up. So how about if your hearty breakfast or lazy lunch could also be a cool experience on its own?

Nestled on the grounds of the Brampton-Caledon Airport, at 13691 McLaughlin Road just south of King Street, is one of Caledon’s best kept secrets. The BFC restaurant and café is fully licensed, and has an outside patio offering you a view of the runway. If the winds are in your favour, you can watch small aircraft taking off and landing while you dine.

SandwichThe atmosphere is friendly and the food is reminiscent of home cooking; flavourful with generous portions. If you are an Eggs Benedict fan, you’ll be thrilled to be able to choose from several creative versions, or try their new Honeymoon Pancakes to satisfy your sweet tooth! You can enjoy breakfast up until 3:00 pm.

Fill your tummy with comfort-food favourites like grilled cheese, pea meal bacon on a bun, chicken Clubhouse and pulled pork sandwiches. You’ll also find a fittingly named MacPilot Burger. Salads and wraps are available for lighter appetites.

You may even decide to round out the experience by visiting the Great War Flying Museum or having a look at the Pilot’s Shop.

This is one stop-over you really should add to your next trip!

Current hours of operation are Wednesday to Sunday from 8:00am until 3:00pm. There is oodles of parking and it is free. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. If you wish you can call ahead 905-838-1400
