Caledon OPP is Investigating a Fatal Collision on Hwy 9

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 9.

On May 11, 2023, shorter after 9:00 p.m., Caledon OPP and emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 9 involving two motorcycles and a pickup truck. One driver, a 51-year-old from Shelburne, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another, a 52-year-old female from Orangeville, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre and later succumbed to her injuries.

Highway 9 between Mount Wolfe Road and Caledon/King Townline was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
