The legendary Home for the Holidays Gala returned to Caledon in style on December 2, 2022, as a real in-person highlight of the holiday season!
This storied anniversary event welcomed more than 400 friends of Caledon Community Services (CCS) to celebrate a quarter century of generosity and kindness. This extraordinary evening, CCS’ most successful Gala to date, raised over $363,000 to help Caledon families, children, youth, and seniors in need. Tribal Partners Inc. was our honored Platinum Sponsor of the annual event, joined by many Caledon businesses, prominent philanthropists, and community champions as event sponsors, donors, and guests.
After two years of being unable to celebrate together in person, CCS’ 25th-anniversary gala was brought to life by a dedicated team of tireless community leaders, once again led by Gala Co-Chairs Johanna Chevalier and Stephen Julian. Throughout the Gala’s history, volunteer leadership has inspired the Caledon community to raise more than $2M to help neighbours in need.
“We are so grateful to all those who came together with purpose and compassion to champion our community right here at home,” said Monty Laskin, CEO, of Caledon Community Services. “The life-changing care provided to our neighbours every day by CCS is a testament to our community’s powerful support throughout a quarter century of our Gala’s history.”
During the evening, guests had a chance to bid on many silent auction items generously donated by local businesses. 2022 Gifts from the Heart auction, expertly led by Caledon’s own celebrity auctioneer Frances Fripp, featured an appeal to feed families in need, keep homes warm and provide lifesaving rides to Caledon seniors. The Gifts from the Heart auction became a true celebration of our community’s generosity that will touch hundreds of lives.
Carl Nissen, CCS’ former client, now a volunteer, spoke proudly about his inspiring journey of hope made possible through the support of Caledon Community Services. To help others like Carl forge their path to health and independence, Tribal Partners Inc., made a historic announcement of an additional $150,000 major gift to Caledon Community Services, beyond their Platinum Sponsorship, bringing the total proceeds of the evening to over $513,000. This extraordinary generosity will further CCS’ work in poverty reduction and help the ever-growing number of families needing support.
