Town Launches Survey as it Focuses on Bolton Growth and Intensification

Downtown Bolton

The Town of Caledon has launched a survey as it prepares a consolidated Bolton Secondary Plan that will “set out a policy framework for intensification and lead to transit oriented and mixed-use development in Bolton’s industrial core.”

The announcement indicates that a strategic review of the Secondary Plans for the Bolton area is underway. The Town says that the survey is “designed to gather insights on community needs and priorities, addressing key aspects such as visioning, guiding principles, built form, and transportation. The survey aims to guide the development of two distinct land use concepts to be presented to the public for additional feedback and input.”

The announcement reads that “Town of Caledon is growing at an exponential rate from a traditional commuter suburb to a mature regional centre. To plan for this growth, the Town of Caledon is consolidating its six existing Bolton secondary plans into one modern plan, focused on growth in Bolton, and specifically the Focused Study Area on the Queen Street Corridor south of the rail line. The consolidated Secondary Plan will set out a policy framework for intensification and lead to transit oriented and mixed-use development in Bolton’s industrial core.”
