Rotary Clubs Including Palgrave Collecting Used Laptops for Nibinamik

The Rotary Indigenous Peoples Cluster (IPPC) has been working with the Nibinamik Education Center for the last couple of years. Nibinamik, or Beaver Summer, is a fly-in community 490 km north east of Thunder Bay. The ice road distance is 770 km and it takes approximately 22 hours to drive the 770km from Nibinamik First Nation to Thunder Bay.

The community has had StarLink internet since the summer, and the teachers are trying to incorporate more technology into their teachings. After grade 8, many students attend Keewaytinook Internet High School – so it would be great to have more laptops to use with students before they reach high school.

The IPPC will clean up the laptops and will pay for the shipping to Nibinamik.
