Caledon is looking for residents to be part of an advisory committee to support the local sports community and make recommendations on inductees to the town’s Sport Hall of Fame.
The committee consists of five community volunteers — two members on a three-year term and three members on a two-year term. Applications are open until May 18.
The Caledon Sport Hall of Fame was established in 2018 and showcases the accomplishments of local athletes, builders, and teams, living or deceased, who have excelled at the community, provincial, national or international levels.
Jerry Callaghan, who led various local sports associations, was the first member to be inducted as a builder in the inaugural year.
Plans to add inductees annually were put on hold for around six years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight new members were inducted in 2024, followed by nine in 2025.
For more information on the program and previous inductees, visit the Sport Hall of Fame webpage at https://www.caledon.ca/en/government/caledon-sport-hall-of-fame.aspx.
