The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged two people in connection with the discovery of a body in the town.
Officers were called to a residence on Deer Ridge Trail shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov. 9 where one person was located injured and later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Rabinder Malhi of Brampton.
The OPP’s Major Crime Unit charged 47-year-old Rajinder Kumar with second-degree murder. Police say he remains in custody before a court appearance on Nov. 18 in Orangeville.
35-year-old Sheetal Verman, also from Caledon, was charged with obstruction of justice.
Police say their investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with help from OPP Forensic Identification Services, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
