Police charge two people after stolen vehicles retrieved

Caledon Provincial Police arrested a pair of suspects, one a tow truck operator, after a traffic stop found a pair of stolen vehicles.

Police say on Oct. 30 an officer was patrolling the area of McLaughlin Road and Tim Manley Road in the town and saw a tow truck towing a vehicle while being followed by another driver. Traffic stops were conducted to confirm ownership and police say both vehicles were stolen and arrests were made.

A 25-year-old tow operator from Brampton faces six charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, having an insecure load and driving a commercial vehicle with improper tires.

A 21-year-old of Caledon was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possessing an automobile master key and altering a vehicle identification number.

Both accused have a Dec. 5 court date in Orangeville to answer to the charges.
