Two people charged following drug investigation

Two Brampton residents face a long list of charges after the Caledon OPP wrapped up a drug trafficking probe.

Earlier this year, the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) started an investigation, leading police to authorize a search warrant for various locations in Brampton.

On July 30 the Caledon CSCU, with help from OPP Canine, Peel Regional Police, and other CSCU’s from Dufferin, Nottawasaga, Orillia, Huronia West, and Collingwood, executed the warrants. Police say the drugs involved were cocaine and oxycodone.

A 27-year-old has been charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm or ammunition, drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The accused is being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

A 26-year-old from Brampton was also charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 19.
