Marisa Parise: This Popular Mortgage Broker Grew Up In Caledon

Marisa Parise has vivid memories of growing up in rural Caledon. Her parents moved to the area in 1969, living on an 11 acre rural parcel of land on the west side of Bolton. “Fond childhood memories of the rolling fields, extensive farms, stunning landscapes, children playing freely, lifelong friendships and a strong community presence” says Marisa.

“At that time it was a quaint town where the residents knew and supported one another” she recollects warmly. “That support encompassed local businesses, events and improvements”.

A student of Cardinal Leger Secondary School Marisa qualified for her high school’s Co-operative Education program which enabled employment for her with Royal Bank. That marked the beginning of her financial career.

Although she went on to major in Human Resources in her post secondary education she chose to pursue her career in financing.

Marisa Parisa“Throughout my studies I remained employed with the Royal Bank, Marisa explained. “For the next eight years I gained a variety of mortgage experience in various roles in Mortgage Sales, Mortgage Underwriting, Mortgage Team Leader, Mortgage Collections, and inevitably a Mortgage Specialist.”

“I became a home owner at age 25 and that experience drew focus on the importance of being able to manage personal finances and building a portfolio of real estate investments.  And I continued building expertise with the Landlord & Tenant Act, Legal requirements and Real Estate Law.”

Later on during her employment as a Mortgage Specialist with TD Bank Marisa says that over the course of five years she “was assigned every new construction builder site from Hwy 400 to Hamilton, opening up sites on 800 lots and providing mortgage financing for purchasers.”

“A few of those sites were in the Bolton area which I was extremely proud to represent” she adds. She was awarded #1 Gold Award for highest sales in Canada.

By the time Marisa reached 30 she decided to pursue her ambition to become a Mortgage Broker and open up her own business.

“I had trained and mentored many Mortgage Agents along with establishing a network of business relationships with 50 lenders” says Marisa speaking to her broad experience and qualifications. “I continued my appointment of Board Member at Invis during those years, strategizing for our Ontario mortgage professionals. I also expanded my expertise in Industrial and Commercial Mortgage Financing.”

At the age of 40 she went back to school while maintaining her extensive portfolio. She strongly believes that knowledge in Real Estate Law, Corporate Law, Family Law and Estate Law is imperative to her profession.

Marisa says that charity work has been a dedicated pastime for her and she continues to be involved. “I was raised to believe that it is important to sustain and support my community. As they say “it takes a village”.

The busy professional says she feels blessed for the opportunity to service the mortgage industry and that she absolutely loves her profession!

“My 35 years of experience has contributed to my ongoing motivation to enhance, educate, mentor and provide expertise to manage mortgage portfolios. My approach is that this is a valued opportunity. I look forward every day to continuing to service the Bolton/Caledon area for years to come and I’m truly grateful for all of the support of residents, friends and family here.”
