Students in Peel and Dufferin will have a longer Family Day weekend, as school boards closed all facilities today thanks to another snowstorm.
“PDSB schools and worksites closed and all buses cancelled today, Thursday, Feb. 13, due to inclement weather,” said a statement on the Peel District School Board website.
“All schools and offices are closed. All buses are cancelled. Please do not send your child(ren) to school. Closure of the schools includes cancellations of all activities located in the schools, including childcare, night school and permits.”
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board issued a statement of its own on social media.
“All DPCDSB schools and offices/facilities are closed to students and staff today due to winter weather conditions.”
Both boards have a scheduled PA day Friday meaning students have a 5-day weekend.
The Town of Caledon cancelled all drop-in and registered programs until noon today. The buildings remained open and fitness floors were available for member access.
Canada Post also halted mail delivery today citing dangerous conditions for drivers and mail carriers.
