Jones to seek re-election in upcoming provincial election

Sylvia Jones is running as a candidate for Dufferin-Caledon in the Feb. 27 provincial election.

Jones, a Progressive Conservative, served as Ontario’s deputy premier and health minister.

There are technically no current MPPs because the 43rd Parliament was dissolved on Jan. 28, however, Jones represented the riding.

“Sylvia has worked hard to ensure that this community thrives. I know she’ll continue to deliver for the people of her community,” Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford said in an online statement.

Jones said she is ready to represent the people of Dufferin-Caledon again.

“I’m proud of what we have accomplished together, from supporting job creation to keeping costs down for families by cutting gas taxes and improving highway infrastructure,” she said in a release.

Jones has lived in the riding for more than 30 years with her husband David.
“I will continue to work hard every day to keep delivering results that make life better for everyone in our community,” she added.
