Shootings in Peel and Caledon connected say police

A shooting late Wednesday night in Brampton has left one man dead and the other injured. Peel police believe the victims were targeted.

Officers and paramedics responded to a shooting at an Odeon Street address, near Concorde Drive, around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, and found two men with gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, said Peel paramedics. He was later taken to an area trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not provide the name or age of the victim.

Around midnight a day later, Caledon OPP sais no injuries were reported after officers responded to a shooting on Centreville Creed Road, north of Mayfield Road. No other details were released.

In a release, Peel police said investigators believe the two incidents are related and are working diligently to determine the facts of the investigation.
