Details are sketchy, but officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an incident at a local high school.
On Tuesday, just after 1 p.m., police responded to a weapon-related incident involving two youths at Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School. Police say to ensure the safety of staff and students, the school was put into lockdown just after 1:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
Police called in the Community Street Crime Unit, Central Region Canine Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team to help with the investigation. Two youths are currently in police custody and the lockdown was lifted just before 3:30 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Peel Crime Stoppers.
Police added they take all public safety threats seriously and provide resources necessary to assess and respond.
