The Town of Caledon is hosting its annual Diwali drone light show on Saturday night.
The 7:30 p.m. event can be viewed in the parking lot of the Southfields Community Centre, 225 Dougall Ave.
The show is weather dependent and if rain and/or wind cancels Saturday it will be rescheduled to Sunday at the same time.
Diwali, a five-day Hindu festival of lights, kicked off earlier this week and it symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
The town said in a release the weekend event will feature “a spectacular display of over 200 drones,” adding the show will illuminate the sky with various symbols that embody the essence of Diwali. It will also feature “vibrant musical beats to enhance the festive atmosphere.”
“We’re thrilled to be holding the Diwali Drone Show again this year, which is now an annual event in the Town of Caledon,” said Catherine McLean, the town’s community and human services commissioner.
“We encourage all residents to come out and celebrate the Festival of Lights and enjoy a family-fun, environmentally friendly alternative to fireworks,” she added.
