Police still hopeful of solving 43-year-old murder, offer reward

Today marks the 43rd anniversary of the discovery of 18-year-old Veronica Kaye’s body in Caledon.

According to an OPP news release, investigators remain committed in the search for the person or persons responsible for her death. They are also asking the public to come forward with any information, no matter how minor it may be, as even the smallest clue could help solve this case.

Kaye was last seen in Mississauga on Nov. 7, 1980. Almost a year later her body was found in a wooded area southeast of Humber Station Road and Castlederg Sideroad.

The release goes on to say investigators feel someone has the missing piece of information that will help identify those responsible for Veronica’s murder and bring peace to her family.

A $50,000 reward continues to be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP or Peel Crime Stoppers.
