Impaired charges continue to pile up in Caledon

Make it 117 impaired charges in 2024.

A release from the Caledon OPP said that figure is as of Sept. 10 and is after four more drivers were charged last weekend.

Between Oct. 4 and Oct. 6, four drivers in four separate incidents were arrested and charged with impaired operation. Two drivers from Caledon and one from Mississauga and Brampton have had their driver’s licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.

All four people will appear in an Orangeville courtroom later this month to answer to the charges.

Police say they remain committed to ensuring Caledon roads are safe from drug-impaired and alcohol-impaired drivers.
