Police charge Brampton man following drug probe

Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid several charges against a Brampton man.

Earlier this year, the Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit began a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Caledon. On September 12, with the assistance of five other police services, executed search warrants at residences and vehicles in Caledon and Brampton. Police seized items including suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, as well as identity documents, credit cards, and currency.

The 33-year-old has been charged with four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of drug trafficking. He also faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failure to comply with release and probation orders.

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
