The Town of Caledon is in the process of reviewing its budget for next year and looking for input from residents and businesses.
A release from the town said advancing the progress made in previous years, the 2025 budget will further support Caledon’s Strategic Plan and future growth. The survey is currently available at www.haveyoursaycaledon.ca/budget2025 and will be open until Monday, Sept. 30.
“The budget is one of the most important responsibilities of council and the municipality. It reflects Caledon’s priorities and values,” commented Mayor Annette Groves. “Your feedback is crucial to ensuring we allocate resources in a way that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our residents. Please take a moment to complete the survey and together we can build Caledon’s future.”
“Moving into the back half of the year, our team continues to develop and review our financial plans to continue to build off our momentum,” said Robert Cummings, Commissioner of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. “We recognize the importance of community input and encourage everyone in Caledon to share their feedback. By participating in the survey, residents and businesses can play a key role in helping us create a budget that delivers the best of rural and urban life for all of Caledon.”
The 2024 budget had a tax rate increase of 5.97 per cent including the portion for the Region of Peel and school boards. The impact for a $670,000 residential assessment was approximately $336.79 a year.
Following public consultation, staff will present to Council a proposed budget in the months to come. For more information on the budget and finances, visit www.caledon.ca/budget.
