Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges in connection to a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Aug. 23 police received information from the town’s by-law enforcement of a chop shop with a stolen 2021 Lexus RX350 in pieces at a rural property on The Gore Road. On Aug. 29, the Caledon and Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit, Caledon Community Response, Provincial Auto Theft and Towing Team with the assistance of the Equite Association executed a search warrant at the property and recovered the stolen Lexus and a stolen 2022 Toyota Tundra also in pieces. Other property was also seized.
Police say three people were arrested and the property recovered was worth approximately $120,000.
Three Mississauga residents, aged 38, 24 and 44, face one count of possession of property proceeds obtained by crime over $5000.
The accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Oct. 3.
