Caledon and are under special weather statement

Thanks to the potential for heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, Caledon and the rest of Peel is under a special weather statement.

Environment Canada issued an alert as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl moves northeast towards Ontario. While they add they are not exactly sure of the system’s path yet, they warn of potential torrential downpours with rainfall rates of 20 to 40 millimetres per hour at times. Localized rainfall totals could exceed 50 millimetres.

Rain is expected to reach our area late tonight or Wednesday and continue into Thursday.

Rainfall warnings may be issued as confidence in the track of the system increases.
