Crash in Caledon leads to impaired driving charge

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a driver involved in a three-vehicle collision with impaired operation.

On July 7, just after 4 p.m., police responded to the collision on Mount Hope Road, near Dr. Reynar Road, in the Town of Caledon. No injuries were reported. Police say during the investigation they formed grounds that one of the drivers’ ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 31-year-old from Brampton has been charged with impaired driving, failure to comply with a demand and failing to stop after an accident.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 25 to answer to the charges.

Caledon OPP reminds motorists that failure or refusal to comply with a demand in an impaired operation investigation is a criminal offence. They add the consequences someone will face are the same as being charged with impaired operation.
