The much-anticipated but not-so-loved summer roadwork season is in full effect in Peel region, as school is out and the highway construction in Caledon, Mississauga and Brampton has started in full force.
The Ministry of Transportation released new and recurring closures for the first week of July on its 511 Ontario website, in the event they cause major traffic delays for Peel drivers.
Locally, an engineering investigation on Highway 410 northbound between Bovaird Drive in Brampton and Valleywood Boulevard in Caledon will leave the left lane closed until July 12.
The CAA meanwhile, is telling drivers to watch their speed, as a recent poll shows Canadians are “deeply alarmed” about speeding in neighbourhoods.
The organization’s polling found nearly nine in 10 Canadians say they are deeply worried about speeding in residential areas, while one in five admit to doing it at least sometimes.
