Forster’s Book Garden Invites You To A Double Celebration!

Canadian Independent Bookstore Day is a nation-wide celebration of independent bookstores. On this day – April 29th this year – book writers, readers, publishers, illustrators and others all come together to celebrate indie bookstores which are such an important piece of Canadian culture.

In Caledon you can recognize the day and show support by joining in on the fun at Forster’s Book Garden, who just happen to be also celebrating 25 years as your local book store.

The event includes local authors, artisans and a publisher. There will be refreshments, a contest which could win you a large gift certificate to your favourite bookstore, from the Canadian Independent Bookseller Association, draw prizes and giveaways. In addition Forster’s is doubling everyone’s Customer Appreciation Points on sales that day.

The fantastic group of authors includes, Kathleen Davies (children’s picture book), Lisa Oatway (middle school historical novels one set in each province), John Steckley (an eclectic selection), Angie Addams (romance and paranormal romance), Glenn Carley (another eclectic selection), Astrid Peters (book about her mother Sybilla who emigrated from the Netherlands to marry Franz Peters with whom she began Humber nurseries), Terence Young (a book he carefully researched to warn us all about the inherent dangers of the pharmaceutical drugs we are often prescribed and how to talk to your doctor about it), Carol Good (who wrote her first book of poetry to celebrate her 65th birthday), Dalia Rahm (mystery), Julie Kemp (fantasy), and Robyn Gram-Barclay (two children’s picture books and some of her art work).

The visiting artisans include Keirstin Gadjadar (knitted book covers and coffee/tea cup cozies), and Terry Kimbell (wood and metal work). As well, David Stover, owner of Rocks Mills Press will be on hand to answer questions and talk to people about publishing. Thinking about that book you’ve always wanted to write? David can help you with the publishing aspect.

Saturday, April 29th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Forster’s Book Garden, 266 Queen Street South, Bolton

Everyone Welcome!
