Regional Diversity Roundtable Celebrates OTF Grant at Member Meeting

On Wednesday, local MPP Natalia Kusendova attended Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR)’s virtual member meeting and heard more about the Resilient Communities Fund grant of $98,700 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation which supported the hire of a dedicated fundraising professional to develop in implement a sustainable fundraising plan for RDF’s organizational recovery and growth following COVID-19.

“I am pleased that our government allocated $98,700 to the Regional Diversity Roundtable organization (RDR) through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Thanks to this grant, the RDR was able to hire a committed fundraiser who created and implemented a sustainable fundraising plan,” said MPP Natalia Kusendova. “This funding will allow RDR to teach individuals the value of social justice, resilience, and diversity. By incorporating diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) concepts into their everyday lives, practices, policies, and services, they assist the Halton Peel community, and organizations in achieving their sustainability objectives. Through research, policy work, and training, the Regional Diversity Roundtable contributes to fulfilling the goal of offering suitable services to individuals from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds in my riding of Mississauga Centre and the Halton Peel Region.”

The OTF grant, received in Spring 2022, supported the hire of a fundraising professional to lead the Aspiration to Action Fundraising Project, which included the creation of an action plan, development of a solid donor database, listing of current and potential funding sources and implementation of the plan using a range of promotional methods to achieve identified financial goals and outcomes tied to the organization’s strategic plan.

“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated,” said Varsha Naik, Executive Director, Regional Diversity Roundtable. “Funding and sustainability are a key focus for the organizational development plan, and thanks to this grant we have been able to explore fundraising streams in the current covid context to further RDR’s operational growth and stability.”
