Caledon OPP Charges Three Drivers With Impaired Operation

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three individuals with impaired operation resulting from three separate incidents in the past four days.

On February 11, 2023, at approximately 9:08 a.m., an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Airport Road near King Street in the Town of Caledon. At that time, a vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed and was stopped. The officer formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operation a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, and subsequently arrested the accused.

As a result of the investigationa 51-year-old of of Brampton was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Speeding

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.

The next day on February 12, 2023, at approximately 1:42 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a suspicious vehicle parked on Heart Lake Road. Officers arrived and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operation a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused was arrested.

As a result a 51-year-old of Caledon was subsequently charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while prohibited

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

On February 14, 2023, at approximately 9:01 p.m., the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Old School Road, near Highway 10. Officers arrived and observed a vehicle on its roof. During the investigation, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operation a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused was arrested.

As a result of the investigation a 47-year-old of Brampton was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

All three accused from the three separate incidents are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 2, 2023, to answer to the charges.
