hangs from bony shoulders
Backdrop for ribbonned medals
buffed brass buttons
Crested air crew cap
carefully positioned
Ready for inspection
after more than seventy-five years
Forged by fire
your steely resolve
Kept you coming back
when others did not
Your unrelenting love
a lasting legacy
Annual remembrance
not nearly enough
To honour
