CPCC Announces Rebranding at 35th Year Anniversary Celebration

The Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC) celebrated their 35th Anniversary on Thursday, November 24th, 2022. The day featured a variety of themed activities at the CPCC’s main sites in Caledon East, Bolton and Southfields Village. In the early evening, a meet and greet reception and cake cutting was held in Bolton, attended by stakeholders, volunteers, families, community members, former board and staff.

The CPCC’s story had its beginning in 1985, when adevastating fire took place at a residence in Bolton. A childcare provider and the young children in her care could not be saved. From this, an inquest was held, identifying the need for support for residents caring for young children. A group of women met at the Caledon Information Centre located in Caledon East to determine how this could be achieved. An application was submitted to the Provincial Government, funding was approved, and the CPCC opened its doors in 1987.

Thirty-five years later, the Centre has grown to become an inclusive community hub, promoting positive outcomes for children, while connecting families to each other and community resources. Thousands of children and their families have come through their doors, accessing early learning and development programs, family resource services, socio-economic supports and access to information and referrals..

At the 35th anniversary celebration, Executive Director Teresa Colasanti unveiled a new Strategic Plan with the assembled group, saying,

“As 2022 comes to a close, we are more convinced than ever that strong families mean a strong Caledon. And we know that it all begins at the CPCC. With that in mind, coming out of our most recent strategic planning process, we have identified four organizational pillars going forward:

To meaningfully strengthen our connection to our communities
To deepen our commitment to equitable access to our programs and services
To boldly innovate with new programs that meet the needs of families
And to build a strong, resilient and resourceful organization

Later, it
was unveiled that the CPCC will be embarking on an organizational rebrand. Over the next several months, they plan to engage the Caledon community in this process. It will involve community-wide consultation and engagement with stakeholders, culminating in a new name, branding and messaging.

Referencing this renewal and refreshed messaging, Community Relations Manager Shelly Ives was quick to point out, “What will not change – and will never change – is the heart, dedication, culture and commitment that has always been a foundation of our organization.
