ACCA has recently announced that Peel Region Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services, Gary Kent, CPA CGA, FCCA was elected as an ACCA Council Member to serve on their governing council for a three-year term.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the leading global body of finance and accounting professionals, representing 241,000 accountants from 178 countries across the world. The ACCA Council Election results were announced at their AGM in London, UK, on November 10th, 2022.
Gary brings extensive experience to the role of ACCA Council member with over 25 years in municipal finance and accounting from various senior roles including CFO and Commissioner of Corporate Services at the Region of Peel and City of Mississauga respectively. A Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and a Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada (CPA), Gary also holds the ICD.D designation, having completed the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
