It is the impact of these stories that reinforces the continued need of a local residential hospice along with accessible community grief and bereavement support programs.

Those who walk the hospice hallways and interact with doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers understand this need. They embark on the journey with their loved one, making the end-of-life process one of peace, serenity and compassion.
When a recent resident spent his last days at Bethell Hospice, his sister shared the impact of the experience on her family, “I never quite understood, until my first visit, what a precious resource a hospice is for the dying. We were so grateful for the care provided so compassionately and so generously without exception. Bethell Hospice is simply an awesome place.”
Not all who have suffered a loss spend time at the Bethell Hospice residence. Many are community clients who understand it is essential to deal with their pain and sorrow as they honour the memory of a loved one.
