Surface Treatment Program – Various Road Sections

What are we doing?
  • Surface treatment is a process that resurfaces a road with a hard surface with the finished product appearing similar to asphalt.
  • The process may include removing the existing hard surface on the road, adding gravel and then proceeding with the surface treatment process. This process consists of spraying an asphalt emulsion on the road followed by spreading an aggregate over the emulsion and compacting the aggregate to press it into the emulsion. Some roads being treated will receive applications.
  • Dust may occur during construction; however, the contractor will be applying dust suppressant as required.
Where?

The following roads have been included as part of this program:

  • Heritage Road, from King Street to the north road limit.
  • Boston Mills Road, from Mississauga Road to Creditview Road.
  • Main Street, from Caledon-East Garafraxa Townline to Pavilion Road.
  • St. Andrews Road, from Beech Grove Sideroad to Escarpment Sideroad.
  • Mountainview Road, Beech Grove Sideroad to The Grange Sideroad.
  • Duffy’s Lane, Patterson Sideroad to Palgrave Forest.
Why?
  • To create a new hard surface on a road to improve rideability.
When?
  • The construction work is anticipated to start the week of August 22, 2022, and be completed by September 15, 2022, weather permitting. The Contractor is expected to be on-site Monday through Friday for the working week.
  • We apologize in advance for the short notice. The contractor’s work schedule has changed, and we are able to complete this work while the weather is very favourable.
Who can you call?

Town of Caledon

  • Lisa Wooldridge – Operations Coordinator – 905-584-2272 ext. 4410
  • Service Caledon – 905-584-2272 ext. 7750

Contractor – MSO Construction LTD

  • Drew Marshall – Project Manager – 416-743-3224
Bell/Rogers
  • Unfortunately, the Town has historically discovered communications cables installed closer to the ground surface than specified. If these lines are closer to the surface than the Bell/Rogers specification a line may inadvertently be cut by the construction crew. It is Bells/Rogers responsibility to provide you with a service that is buried to a sufficient depth and they will need to address any line outages.
  • In the event you find your line is cut please contact them directly at:
    • Bell outside Service Wire: 1-866-310-2355
    • Rogers Communications: 1-888-764-3771
Traffic and Parking Control
  • We will need to reduce traffic on Innis Lake Road to a single lane during construction and Traffic Control persons will be used with proper signage. Expect delays while driving through the construction zone.
Working Hours
  • Contractor’s normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but a shorter working day would mean the project would take longer to complete.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Service Caledon at 905-584-2272 ext. 7750.
