Caledon Public Library (CPL) is undertaking a Master Plan to guide library activities over the next decade and beyond, and is seeking community input – regardless of whether you’re a frequent user, an occasional user or you have never before darkened their door (or internet portal)!
As Caledon is a fast-growing and dynamic community, they want to ensure that they plan for the entire library system’s future growth and development. This will include:
- A major emphasis on existing and proposed new facilities
- Collections;
- Programs and services;
- Technology;
- Partnerships with other community organizations; and
- New and innovative ways to better serve the Caledon community.
CPL recently retained the services of TCI Management Consultants, specialists in library and cultural planning, in association with CS+P Architects, and other library specialists, to assist in the development of a Master Plan to ensure Caledon Public Library is prepared to support the size and diversity of the Caledon community’s needs.
“We’re starting the process by reaching out to members of the community about what they want in a library and how to make the library as useful and relevant as possible to the residents, students, and businesses in Caledon” according to the CEO and Chief Librarian Colleen Lipp. “Public engagement and input is one of the most important components of the process”.
Caledon residents interested in participating are encouraged to take the survey www.cpl.social/survey. As a thank you for their participation, eligible respondents have the option of being entered into a draw for one of several $50 gift cards from selected Caledon businesses, plus a grand prize draw for an Apple iPad at the end of the survey. There will be 8 periodic draws throughout the survey period, so best to complete the survey early in order to be eligible for multiple draws!
