Deadline Approaches for Running in the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election

The deadline is fast approaching if you are thinking of running in the Town of Caledon 2022 Municipal and School Board Election. To become a candidate, you must file a Nomination with the Clerk by August 19, 2022 at 2 p.m.

You are eligible to run as a candidate for the position of Mayor, Regional Councillor, Councillor and School Board Trustee, if you are:

  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years of age;
  • a resident of the Town of Caledon; or
  • own or lease property in the Town (or are the spouse of the owner or lessee).

Candidate Information

There are many resources to learn about running for office. A candidate information session was held by the Town in consultation with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing on April 22, 2022. Watch the recording session and learn more about the roles and responsibilities of Mayor and Council.
