Take Part in Fun Canada Day World Record

The following letter for the Caledon community was received from Barrie Shepley, C3 Canadian Cross Training Club

In a universe filled with negative things, I thought I would introduce you to a fun, positive energy event that might catch some attention of those who follow you.

This Friday, July 1st, our Caledon non-profit organization are going to set a new world record for the most people to ever do a water aquatics class at the same time.
Why is this of interest?
First we have helped take a retired sand quarry in Caledon and over the last 10 years turn it into a world class place to swim-paddle-tan-play volleyball and relax. Its a great refurbishment story.
I am a Canadian Olympic coach.  At the 2000 Olympic Games, my young athlete, Simon Whitfield won gold in the triathlon in Sydney.  Simon has helped us grow this fun quarry and recently was back to help us run an event.
The gentleman who is leading the class on Friday is a unique – fun guy. His legal name is Jessey the Elf.  He loves x-mas as you might appreciate, and is a world class athlete himself (having represented Canada numerous times in SURF LIFE SAVING SWIMMING).
Jessey will be in Caledon at the C3 James Dick Quarry this Friday July 1st, to lead 300+ people in a 30 min fun outdoor water aerobic class. Think rockstar music, in 4 feet of water, with 300+ kids, adults, grandmothers and elite athletes all having fun celebrating Canada’s day.  It will make for great pictures, great video and a great story.  The old record is 271 people ini Australia and we currently have 320 people listed to show up and do the class to break the biggest class in the world.
If you are looking for something fun for July 1st, or a fun story for later, we would love to have you either come up and get your own material (video, pictures, etc) or we can send you post video, pictures, story after Friday’s 10am class.
The day will begin with open water swimming (10k, 5k, 2k, 1k) with all swims planned to be done by 930am so everyone can join in the world record class.
We are located at the C3 James Dick Quarry at 18075 Hurontario.  Because it will be busy, if you are planning on coming, please let me know so we can have a space reserved for you to park.
Thank you for all you do.  And if this fun event has any interest for you – please let me know and we can accommodate your needs.
Sincerely,
Barrie Shepley
