Canada Day Holiday Service Hours at the Region of Peel

Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed for the Canada Day holiday on Friday, July 1, 2022. 

The following non-emergency services are closed and will reopen on Monday, July 4, 2022: 

  • Access Peel Counters (by appointment only) 
  • Dental Services Contact Centre 
  • Early Years and Child Care Services 
  • Family Health Call Centre 
  • Healthy Sexuality Clinic 
  • Needle Exchange Program – Mobile Van 
  • Ontario Works in Peel 
  • Peel Living Office 

Vaccination Clinics

Vaccination clinics will be closed on Friday, July 1 (Canada Day), and will reopen on Saturday, July 2.
To book your appointment, visit COVID-19 vaccine.

Human services   

Early Years and Child Care Services  

Child Care Subsidy units will be closed on Friday, July 1 (Canada Day), and will reopen on Monday, July 4.

Ontario Works in Peel  

Ontario Works will be closed on Friday, July 1 (Canada Day), and will reopen on Monday, July 4. 

Emergency shelter, food, medication, or personal support 

For urgent homelessness support, including food, supplies, referrals, and shelter, call the Street Helpline 24/7 at 1-877-848-8481. For information on emergency shelters, visit the emergency shelter web page or call 905-450-1996. 

Peel Living Maintenance Requests 

For Peel Living maintenance requests, contact the 24-hour request line at 905-790-7335. 

TransHelp 

All trips for Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, must be booked by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.  

On Friday, July 1 (Canada Day):

  • TransHelp will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • All subscription trips will be cancelled, with the exception of dialysis trips.
  • The TransHelp office will be closed and unable to process applications, payments or feedback.

Public Transit 

Visit Brampton Transit and Mississauga Transit for holiday schedules. 

Waste collection Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon 

There will be no change to your waste collection schedule due to the Canada Day Holiday. Check your collection calendar to find your pickup day or sign up to receive free waste collection reminders. All Community Recycling Centres are closed on Friday, July 1, and will reopen on Saturday, July 2.

Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA)  

PAMA has reopened its Art Gallery and Courthouse. It will be closed on Friday, July 1 (Canada Day), and will reopen on Saturday, July 2 with two new art gallery exhibitions. Learn more at pama.peelregion.ca
