Gardener, Property Maintenance and Social Networking skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Gardening: Collaborating with the volunteers, Exterior property and garden clean up, raking, weeding, and watering of the community garden used to supply fresh vegetables to the Caledon Community Services Exchange.
Maintenance of parking lot (spread gravel and weeding). Weed whacking side lawn. Prepare soil and area of community garden. Plant vegetables and package them for the food bank. Lase with community members who want a plot in the garden. Work with other members of the organization to coordinate activities. Prepare social media advertising and communication re garden and food donations.
Maintenance: Collaborating with the volunteers on small building maintenance projects within the church building. Carpentry and hand tool skills required.
Social Networking: To collaborate with volunteers on the implementation of a new live streaming and organizing the Facebook page of the organization. Must have their own computer to develop and implement systems. Write up process and instructions for the above so volunteers may be trained to run the systems. High speed internet access at the organization is available.
Hours of Work and Duration
7 hours per day Monday to Friday = 35 hours per week
8 weeks (June-July)
Hourly Rate
$15 per hour
