‘Grown in Peel’ Is Back

Residents can once again visit Peel farms for locally grown fruits and vegetables. The 2022 Grown in Peel guide is available online by visiting www.GrowninPeel.ca . The guide features available products in Peel and indicates when they are in season. Peel residents can also learn what is available in their local nurseries and greenhouses, and where to find other farm-fresh products, such as meat, eggs, and honey.

This year’s guide features many farms, retailers and farmers markets in Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga, plus an easy-to-read online map that shows how to find each location.

The guide includes availability charts that show when it’s seasonal to buy almost 50 kinds of fruits and vegetables, as well as different varieties of apples, pears, and plums.

“Please see this year’s Grown in Peel guide to find something fresh to eat or fun to do this spring,” says Gary Mountain, the Chair of the Peel Agricultural Advisory Working Group. “The Region of Peel is committed to making it easy for Peel residents to find fresh, flavourful locally-grown fruits and vegetables.  Please visit the online guide to find many healthy, delicious seasonal products and a variety of ways to enjoy a family outing at one of Peel’s farms or markets.”
