Heat Pumps for Home Heating & Cooling
Date: Wednesday May 25, 2022
Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Online (Zoom)
Presenter: Gil Amdurski, Technical Coordinator, Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program (STEP), TRCA
Find out how air-source heat pumps can lower your carbon footprint as well as your home heating and cooling bills.
The air-source heat pump (ASHP) is a relatively new technology for home heating and cooling that’s becoming more and more popular. In this free interactive workshop, TRCA’s Gil Amdurski teaches us about ASHP retrofits in existing homes, with an emphasis on hybrid heating systems that couple a low-cost ASHP with a high-efficiency natural gas furnace.
You’ll learn about the upfront costs, utility bill impacts, and carbon savings from three hybrid heating systems recently installed in the Greater Toronto Area — and discover how to achieve deep carbon savings for your home at the lowest possible cost.
Exclusive Green Home Program Incentives:
All West Bolton SNAP neighbourhood residents who participate in this workshop have the opportunity to qualify for a draw for a $50 gift card to a local tree nursery or hardware store of your choice.
