Caledon Takes Local Priorities to the Province

As the provincial election draws near, the Town of Caledon is lobbying the province on priority issues affecting Caledon residents and businesses; from broadband internet and affordable housing to public transit and climate change.

“We have invested time and effort to develop a good working relationship with the current government,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “The benefits have been significant, but there is still much work to be done, and we want to ensure that all the candidates and parties in the provincial election are aware of our priorities.”

As part of its advocacy efforts, the Town is reaching out to local candidates and provincial parties to raise awareness of Caledon’s position on a number of issues important for the Town’s growth, modernization and resilience, including:

  • affordable housing;
  • broadband;
  • climate change;
  • GO Transit;
  • finance;
  • infrastructure; and
  • local planning matters.
