Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of Caledon:
Anyone considering running for office in the municipal election to be held on October 24, 2022 for the Town of Caledon may file a nomination for the offices of:
Mayor**
- one to be elected by all voters of the municipality
Regional Councillors**:
- one to be elected for Ward 1, 2 and 3
- one to be elected for Ward 4, 5 and 6
Councillors**
- one to be elected for Ward 1
- one to be elected for Ward 2
- one to be elected for Ward 3
- one to be elected for Ward 4
- one to be elected for Ward 5
- one to be elected for Ward 6
School Board Trustees:
- Trustee, Peel District School Board
- Trustee, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board
- Trustee, Conseil scolaire de Viamonde (Nominations are accepted at the City of Mississauga)
- Trustee, Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (Nominations are accepted at the City of Brampton)
**Nominations for the offices of Mayor, Councillor and Regional Councillor must be accompanied by the signatures of 25 eligible Caledon electors supporting the nomination.
Nominations for the above offices may be made by completing and filing nominations of the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for the office of Mayor and $100.00 for all other offices. The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque or money order.
A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours between May 2 and August 19, 2022 and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day).
**Candidates are strongly encouraged to book an appointment with the Town Clerk to file their nomination form.
Please note:
No person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept contributions for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until they have filed a nomination paper.
