Hike for Bethell Hospice: May 1st in Person or Virtual by May 31st

Hike for Bethell Hospice In-Person
Sunday, May 1 in Inglewood, ON

The 12th Annual Hike for Bethell Hospice is back in-person on Sunday, May 1 in Inglewood. Held each year during National Hospice & Palliative Care Week, the hike is an important event for Bethell Hospice Foundation, raising awareness and funds for hospice palliative care in our community. The goal for this year’s hike is to raise $225,000 through a combination of virtual and in-person pledges and donations.

Hikers will meet at the Lloyd Wilson Arena in Inglewood, and walk a 5 kilometre route along the Caledon Trail, many hiking in memory of a friend or family member. The hike celebrates not only those who were residents of Bethell Hospice, but all those who are loved and remembered. Fundraising events like the hike ensure Bethell Hospice will always be available in our community, at no cost to anyone in need.

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with opening ceremonies getting underway at 9:00 a.m. The hike is an accessible, five kilometre walk along the rail trail, followed by food fuel-up stations and BBQ prepared by Palgrave Rotarians.

Registration is just $25 (free for youth 18 & under), and includes post hike food, a limited edition hike t-shirt and a registration kit. Hikers are encouraged to gather pledges of support, and post inspirational messages and photos on the memory board. To register for the hike, or to donate to a hiker, go to foundation.bethellhospice.org. On-site registration will also be open on the morning of the hike beginning at 8:00 a.m.

For those who prefer to complete their hike independently, virtual participation is also welcome. Virtual hikers can complete their own hike anytime, anywhere with donations being accepted until May 31, 2022.

Hike for Bethell Hospice is proudly presented by the Town of Caledon. The hike is also generously supported by Platinum Level Sponsors Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres, Access Storage – Caledon, In Memory of Mary Gurr, The Fines Family, and Ledson Investments Inc. This year’s Gift Matching Partner is Scotiabank – Mayfield and Bramalea Branch, Brampton. Many Gold, Silver, Bronze and Route Sponsors are also involved with the hike.

All proceeds benefit Bethell Hospice Foundation. Bethell Hospice is the only residential hospice serving Caledon, Brampton and Dufferin County and provide programs and services throughout the community.
