Carol Good and her family moved to Caledon in 1993. She is an active volunteer, committed gardener and a semi-retired professional facilitator.

With more time now for her writing practice, her goal to publish a book of poetry has been realized. “Alive & 65: A Celebration” launches this week to coincide with her 65th birthday on June 23rd and will be available for purchase at Forster’s Book Garden in Bolton.

Just Sayin’ Caledon is pleased to share some of Carol’s work. The following piece “Solstice” is timely as we,  just yesterday, celebrated the Summer Solstice.

Solstice

Luminous and long
with sky bright
so late

Statement of continuity
radiantly repeated
each June

Flipside of
December’s
dazzling dark

Stones arranged by ancients
mark these moments
as magic

Their spell
unbroken
for now
