Lightning Rod: A Poem from “Alive & 65”

The following poem can be found on page 7 of Alive & 65 by Palgrave’s Carol Good. The book is available at Forster’s Book Garden in Bolton.

Lightning rod

Some need blaring sirens

to avoid being a lightning rod

Me, I am vigilant

as a mere speck

A warm blanket

weighs wet

Dark billows climb

claiming the sky

Ominous grumbles

warning the unwary
