Caledon OPP Involved in Shooting in Brampton

Caledon OPP say they have been involved with a shooting.

They say on November 16th, officers from the Caledon Detachment responded to a stolen vehicle call for service in the area of Kennedy Road and Mayfield Road in the Town of Caledon. Police say a white Range Rover was reported stolen from an address in Brampton on Sunday, November 15, 2020, and was in the area of Kennedy Road and Mayfield Road. When officers located the vehicle in Brampton, the suspect vehicle intentionally struck the OPP cruisers repeatedly. OPP say that due to the nature of the situation, an officer discharged their service firearm.

OPP say the stolen vehicle was able to flee the area and was later recovered by Peel Regional Police Service in the City of Mississauga. No reported injuries were sustained by the officers, the suspects or any members of the public as a result. OPP say the SUI has been notified, but has not yet invoked its mandate.
